Wikis

Wikis are a site which you can create and invite others to post to the same site.  By doing this multiple people can communicate about a topic they are all interested in.  Wikis are a great way to connect with others who have the same interest as you.  In this manner you can share you ideas, information or seek information from others.  A great idea for a communication site where multiple people with like interest to come together.  A web site that will help you get started is Wikis@wetpaint.com, check it out and let me know what you think.

  1. Gail,
Something I found interesting in my reading is that even though Wikis are not considered material for references that they are often very accurate. It seems the owners of the original posts are protective of the information and clean up extraneous information. I find them to be good sites to get a start on information I am seeking

  2. So many people use Wikis in their every day search for any person, place, or thing that he or she wants to research. At least for me, it is a natural go-to whenever I want to find some quick information on a topic that has me curious. For example, how old is a certain actor, how many kids were on the Cosby Show, or what is the most popular sport in America. Do you think there will ever be a way to successfully use Wikis as a credible source, say for school work? It always provides such great and detailed information about anything. Can something so popular ever be deemed reliable?
